I'm a certified Instructional Designer and e-Learning Developer from the bayou state of Louisiana. I have a background in graphic design, interior design, retail, customer service, food and beverage, hospitality, and education.
As an Instructional Designer, I use the ADDIE and SAM models to design projects. I am a life-long learner, as I always seek trending and innovative ways to deliver e-Learning content and adapt to new software that take my courses to the next level. I create engaging and effective learning solutions by incorporating adult learning theories to help learners apply and retain information for their jobs. I am a problem solver and tenacious self-starter who loves helping others achieve their goals. My courses are built to align with learning objectives while keeping focus on creating interactions that enhance the learning experience. I LOVE utilizing my passion and expertise for design and education to help others!
When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, designing digital art, streaming true-crime documentaries, and attending concerts and sporting events.

This badge is the culmination of a 9-month program called Applied Instructional Design Academy(AIDA). I earned it after completing the ID Fundamentals, Rise, Storyline, e-Learning Development, and Instructional Design Process badges. I completed 400+ lessons, received extensive coaching, and completed a rigorous set of learning activities with practice, feedback, multiple revisions, and the completion of simulated client projects. I also had to create a portfolio that had to pass certain criteria.

My design process is based on the learning solution that is needed. I first choose which learning model I need to utilize, either the ADDIE or SAM model to base my design on.
The ADDIE model is a well-known instructional design framework that helps designers and developers create efficient and effective training programs. ADDIE is the model I apply in my instructional design process when I craft learning solutions from start to completion, have time for design changes/needs/wants, and want to leave no stone unturned. Great attention to detail is paid when applying this model to my learning solutions.
When utilizing ADDIE, I:
Analyze: Define what needs to be learned by analyzing learners' needs and asking subject matter experts (SMEs) questions such as who the audience is, what the desired outcome is, and what the audience already knows.
Design: Design the instructional approach. Decide which method of instruction is best suited for the learners, create design documents, storyboards, and any other materials necessary to bring the solution to life.
Develop: Develop the content. Through technology tools, such as Articulate Rise, Storyline, Canva, Camtasia, Vyond and more, I take complex content and transition everything into smaller, easier to comprehend bites, including Job Aids, manuals, interactions, and knowledge checks.
Implement: Implement the solution. Once everything has been developed and has been checked for quality assurance, the learning solution and materials can be uploaded to the organization's Learning Management System (LMS), or shared to the SharePoint drive for trainers to facilitate.
Evaluate: Evaluate the effectiveness of the solution. After the training or course has been completed by the learners, I conduct surveys to employees, learners, customers, or whoever is directly affected by the training to identify key factors of what needs to be changed and what worked well.
The SAM model is focused on progress over perfection, allowing for progress in small, quick steps. This instructional design model prioritizes tight timelines and quick turnarounds, making it ideal for rapid eLearning development. SAM is the model I apply in my instructional design process when I craft learning solutions from start to completion, have tighter deadlines for design changes/needs/wants, and need to deliver a learning solution immediately. Attention to detail is paid when applying this model to my learning solutions, but the design process might be repeated as it is tested for accuracy and functionality.
When utilizing SAM, I:
Prepare: I gather background information on the learning topic from subject matter experts (SMEs) like what needs to be learned, who the audience is, what the desired outcome is, and what the audience already knows.
Design: I create a Design Document with vital information for the training including an outline, design elements, and assessment details.
Develop: I then develop a prototype, like a rough draft or proof, of the training to be reviewed. Run the training through multiple tests for accuracy and functionality by implementing it into the organization's Learning Management System (LMS). Once testing is complete, allow learners to partake in the training by rolling it out to the organization.
If necessary, once learners have completed the training, I evaluate it for errors, updates, and anything else the organization needs or wants.
